On May 15, Professor Fuyin Ma from Xi'an Jiaotong University gave an academic report titled "A Preliminary Study on the Design and Application of Superstructuring of Equipment Components and Devices" for the teachers and students of our school in the Room 316 of the Gewu Building. Professor Chuanxing Bi presided over the report meeting, which was attended by more than 50 teachers and graduate students from the school.
Professor Fuyin Ma gave a wonderful and detailed report to the participating teachers and students titled "A Preliminary Study on the Metastructure Design and Application of Equipment Components and Devices". The report summarizes the team's engineering application needs for lightweight, low-frequency vibration and noise reduction in aircraft, high-speed trains, ships and other mechanical equipment in recent years, as well as the remote detection and communication needs of sonar equipment. In response to the need to improve equipment defense and attack performance, from equipment stealth (vibration reduction and noise reduction) and detection aspects are started respectively, focusing on the low frequency faced in the design of "light", "small" and "high" (i.e. lightweight, miniaturized and high-performance) of major equipment (divided into components + devices). A series of applied basic research work on core issues of mechanical wave regulation. In terms of metastructure of equipment components, it involves the design of lightweight sound insulation components with thin-walled panels, the design of ultra-light low-frequency broadband vibration-absorbing components, and the design of thin-layer low-frequency broadband sound-absorbing components. In terms of equipment device metastructure, it involves the design of bionic acoustic sensing devices, sub-wavelength focusing and broadband focusing devices, super-resolution imaging and broadband continuously adjustable imaging devices, underwater acoustic signal reception enhancement device design based on acoustic concentrators, and design of underwater acoustic signal directional emission device for self-collimated beaming, etc. Corresponding application exploration has been carried out in the superstructuring of components and devices, and phased progress has been achieved.
During the on-site communication session, Professor Fuyin Ma had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the teachers and students on site, and answered the questions raised by everyone. In simple and easy-to-understand words, he answered the engineering application problems of lightweight, low-frequency vibration and noise reduction of mechanical equipment for graduate students. The teachers and students on site spoke highly of this report.
