Research Areas

Withdecadesof development, ourschool (school of mechanical engineering) has formed a number of influential and distinctive researcharoundtheworld.Meanwhile, lots of honors has been gained, which have played an important role in the equipment manufacturing industry, energy recycling, material recycling, environmental protection, the development of high-tech areas, and especially automobile industry.

Robotics and integrated applications

The research centers on the basic theories and engineering applications in this field, and has achieved a certain degree of international influence in the areas of mechanism and computational kinematics, flexible cable parallel robots, and robot motion control. Meanwhile, it has also reached the domestic advanced level in the fields of industrial robot integration application, mobile robot, rehabilitation robot, etc., and enjoys a good reputation in the industrial world. At present, a research team with good development potential has been formed in this direction, including 5 doctoral supervisors, 5 master supervisors, 1 lecturer, and more than 60 master/doctoral students in the course of study, among which a number of students have been awarded by international and domestic scientific and technological competitions. In recent years, the team has undertaken more than 30 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National 863/973 Project, National Science and Technology Support Program, and major special projects; more than 20 provincial and ministerial projects such as Natural Fund of Anhui Province and Science and Technology Tackle; and the related achievements have been applied in many enterprises and achieved good economic and social benefits. The team has published more than 200 academic papers in domestic and foreign well-known journals and academic conferences, including more than 80 SCI papers, published 8 monographs, and authorized more than 60 national invention patents. The team has won 4 first-class prizes for scientific and technological progress in Anhui Province, 8 second-class prizes for scientific and technological progress from the Ministry of Education, and other scientific and technological awards. The robotics research team emphasizes on international exchange and cooperation, and maintains good academic exchange and cooperation with overseas universities such as the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany and York University in Canada, as well as domestic institutions such as the University of Science and Technology of China, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology, China University of Mining and Technology, and Yanshan University. Our team have also established long-term and in-depth cooperation with many international famous experts, such as Prof. Qiaode Jeffrey Ge, ASME Fellow and head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Prof. Dan Zhang, ASME Fellow and professor of York University, Canada, and has published many high-level papers together.

Green manufacturing and intelligent remanufacturing

Relying on the National Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Automotive Technology and Equipment and Anhui Key Laboratory of Digital Design and Manufacturing, the team carries out theoretical and applied researches in the fields of optimization and reliability design, finite element and dynamic design, modeling and virtual design, modularization and inverse design, multidisciplinary and innovative design of intelligent equipment, automotive technology and core components, with the relevant research results at a leading level in China and has independently developed the first "Crankshaft Precision Straightening Machine" with independent intellectual property rights in China. In recent years, the company has presided over more than 100 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Ministry of Education of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Science and Technology Department of Anhui Province and other organizations, and cooperated with enterprises, and has been awarded the first prize at the provincial and ministerial levels for three projects. Our team have also cooperated closely with JAC, Chery,No.602,No.608,No.38,No.120 of China Electronics Technology Company and other organizations.

Tribology and Tribological Design

Tribology and tribological design direction relies on the Tribology Research Institute, which is one of the earliest established professional tribology research units in China, and is also the director of the National Tribology Society and the vice president of the Anhui Provincial Aviation Society. The team's research topics have long been oriented to the international frontier, and it carries out multi-level, multi-disciplinary intersection of common and key fundamental tribological research and innovation. It has a series of advanced tribological experimental and testing equipment, with fixed assets of more than 10 million yuan in instrumentation and more than 1,000 square meters of research and experimental space. There are 6 professors, 3 associate professors (associate researchers), 4 lecturers and 4 engineers, etc. Besides, 5 people were appointed as the executive director of the National Tribology Society, vice president of Anhui Aeronautical Society, and members of the Committee of Anti-friction and Friction Materials and Tribology Testing Technology, etc. In the past ten years, we have completed various scientific research projects,completed nearly 100 scientific research projects, with a total funding of more than 50 million yuan, and received more than 20 National Natural Science Foundation of China and a number of 863 projects. The team havewon more than 10 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards, published more than 500 academic papers, been authorized more than 30 national invention patents, and edited 9 books.

Modern noise measurement analysis technology and low-noise design

The research team has taken the lead in carrying out research on modern noise measurement and analysis technology and low-noise design in China, and has obtained a number of research results of international leading level in the field of near-field acoustic holography and sound intensity measurement technology in the field of noise source identification. The team has undertaken more than 80 national, provincial and ministerial level research projects, and has won two first prizes for scientific and technological progress in Anhui Province, one second prize for natural science from the Ministry of Education, one second prize for natural science from Anhui Province, and one award for excellent projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Our team have published more than 300 papers in famous journals at home and abroad. Among them, more than 120 papers are included in SCI, more than 200 papers are included in EI, and more than 50 national invention patents have been authorized. The institute has cultivated a large number of excellent talents, who have become enterprise leaders and technology leaders as well as university professors and scientific research force, there are two winners of Anhui Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award, two winners of Chinese Society of Vibration Engineering Youth Science and Technology Award, one winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, two winners of the National Nomination Award for the 100 excellent blogs and one winner of Outstanding Mechanical Doctoral Dissertation Award of HIWIN Technologies Corp for the best work, as well as two winners of the International Society of Noise Control Engineering Professional Young Talent Award. There are also two winners of the International Society of Noise Control Engineering Professional Young Talent Award. The research results have been successfully applied in many enterprises and institutions, such as JAC, Chery Automobile, Golden Dragon Bus, FAW, Jiatong Tire, HELI Forklift, Sany Heavy Machinery, XCMG, Meiling, Midea, South China Power Grid,No. 606,No. 602,No. 624 of China Academy of Aviation Research (CAAR) and etc., and have produced significant economic and social benefits.

CNC technology and intelligent manufacturing equipment

Since the 1980s, the team has been engaged in CNC technology, high-grade CNC machine tools, special machining technology and equipment, intelligent manufacturing equipment and other aspects of research and development, especially in the gear machine tool CNC technology research, development and application of the results of the world's leading level, in the electrolytic (electrochemical) machining machine tools and equipment research and development of a leading position in the country, for the automotive manufacturing of large-scale Large-scale forging and forming equipment for automobile manufacturing and automobile key power components intelligent assembly and testing production line to occupy the domestic market, for the industry and the development of CNC machine tool industry in Anhui Province has made an important contribution. The team members have undertaken more than 100 national major scientific and technological projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National "863" High Technology Program, the National Science and Technology Support (Tackling) Program, and the key major scientific and technological projects in Anhui Province, the independent innovation special projects and major development projects entrusted by the enterprises, etc.; presided over the formulation of the national standards and industry standards for 10 items; obtained the certificate of CNC technology. In the past five years, the company has won one second prize of national scientific and technological progress nominated by the Ministry of Education, six first prizes of scientific and technological progress and more than 10 second prizes of Anhui Province in the field of numerical control technology. In the past five years, the research fund has exceeded 50 million RMB; the direction of this discipline takes talent cultivation as the fundamental task, and has cultivated more than 200 masters and PhDs, and a number of students have been awarded the outstanding graduates of the province and the university, as well as the international and domestic important academic awards, which are widely praised by the employers. At the same time, the team has organized and hosted many international and domestic academic conferences, published more than 200 papers in domestic and international famous journals, and has been authorized more than 50 national invention patents and software copyrights. Up to now, the team has established friendly academic cooperation with the Institute of Machine Tool Control and Production Systems of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, Xianming Wu Manufacturing Research Center of the University of Michigan, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the York University, Canada, etc.; and established long-term and stable technical cooperation with the Guangzhou CNC Equipment Company, Joy Automation Equipment Company, Hefei Metalforming Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd, etc. The team also established long-term and stable technical cooperation with Qinchuan Machine Tool Company, Chongqing Machine Tool Company, and Chongqing Machinery Company; Ltd., Jinan Second Machine Tool Co., Nanjing Second Machine Gear CNC Machine Tool Company, Tianjin First Machine Tool Group Company, Nanjing CNC Machine Tool Company and other domestic famous CNC machine tool companies, long-term production, learning and research cooperation; with the Xi'an Aircraft Aviation Manufacturing Company, Nanjing Aerospace Chenguang Group, Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Group, Xi'an Aerospace Engine Factory, the capital of the Aerospace Machinery Company, China Academy of Atomic Energy Science and other defense and military organizations. Ltd., China Atomic Energy Research Institute and other national defense military enterprises; with more than 10 CNC machine tool companies in Anhui Province, such as Hefei Metalforming Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd, Wuhu Hengsheng Heavy Duty Machine Tool Company, Foxconn Group Anqing Hongqing Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. and other long-term production, learning and research cooperation, and jointly undertake the national science and technology special projects, the national scientific and technological support program and the Anhui Provincial Science and Technology major, key projects.

Key technologies for intelligent manufacturing process

This subject direction has a good research foundation, team members have undertaken a number of high-level research projects, and gradually formed an academic team with strong innovation ability and good cooperation spirit, there are 5 professors (researchers), 7 associate professors, 7 lecturers, including 4 doctoral tutors. The main disciplines and related disciplines of this subject direction have three provincial and ministerial-level scientific research and teaching bases, respectively: the national mechanical and vehicle engineering virtual simulation experimental teaching center (Ministry of Education), the key laboratory of digital design and manufacturing in Anhui Province (Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province), and the virtual simulation experimental teaching center of production system in Anhui Province (Department of Education of Anhui Province). In the past 5 years, the main researchers of this discipline direction have undertaken 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 sub-topic of National 973 Project, 3 projects of Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Tackling Project, 3 projects of Anhui Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 20 projects commissioned by enterprises and institutions, with an average of 5 million yuan of scientific research funds per year. The automobile intelligent equipment and digital factory control platform based on CPS network developed by this discipline direction for automobile vehicle and parts manufacturing industry have been widely used in many domestic and foreign automobile and parts enterprises such as Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, Great Wall, Shenlong, Honda, Beiqi, Jianghuai, Chery, Heavy Duty Vehicle, Shaanzhou Automobile, Fasetek, Getrag, Carraro, Qingshan Gear, Qijiang Gear and so on and have reached the domestic leading level, effectively improving the automobile and parts enterprises. It has reached the leading level in China, effectively enhanced the automation, efficiency, quality and localization of automobile manufacturing, and promoted the development of China's high-end automobile equipment manufacturing industry.

Vacuum science technology and equipment

The team has long been engaged in the research of thin gas in fluid machinery (vacuum technology), after years of construction and development, it has formed five distinctive academic research directions: modern design theory and method of fluid machinery, fluid measurement and control technology, vacuum application technology, thin film technology, and micro and nano-processing technology, and it has won the first prize of the national scientific and technological progress in major equipment, the third prize of the national invention and the third prize. Provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress of the second and third prize 6, published more than 200 academic papers. In recent years, the company has presided over 863 programme projects, National Natural Fund, Innovation of Ministry of Science and Technology, Natural Fund of Anhui Province and enterprise cooperation projects. After more than 30 years of development, this direction has formed a reasonable structure, high academic level, strong engineering practice ability of the research team, the existing professor and researcher 4 people, 5 associate professors, 3 lecturers. The laboratory has an experimental area of 1200 m2, equipped with more than one million rounds of experimental equipment and instruments, which can carry out a number of scientific experiments, including vacuum coating, process equipment comprehensive experiments.

Advanced manufacturing technology of composite components

This research direction is dedicated to the research and development of advanced composite aviation equipment and its design and manufacturing technology. It is the only unit in colleges and universities in Anhui Province engaged in aviation engineering teaching and scientific research. Mainly engaged in research on low-cost manufacturing technology of aircraft composite components, solid rocket motor casing winding forming technology, carbon fiber UAV structure manufacturing technology, etc. Specifically including: efficient/low-cost design and manufacturing methods of aircraft composite components, fiber winding /Automatic laying and molding technology, helicopter composite rotor system technology, UAV carbon fiber structure design and manufacturing technology, etc. Proposed a non-geodesic winding manufacturing model for aircraft composite components, mastered the multi-disciplinary optimization technology of winding paths based on manufacturability, and solved the key common problem that traditional winding molding technology cannot take into account process feasibility and product mechanical properties. In recent years, the research team has undertaken and participated in more than 40 projects commissioned by the National Natural Science Foundation, National Defense Basic Research Plan, Equipment Pre-Research Field Fund, Anhui Provincial Major Science and Technology Project, Anhui Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Aviation Science Fund and enterprise commissioned projects, and published more than 100 papers. Articles, 4 monographs in Chinese and English, and more than 10 authorized invention patents, it is a senior member unit of the China Composite Materials Society, a vice-president unit of the Anhui Aeronautical Society, and an editorial board member of the SCI Zone II journal "Composite Structures". Work closely with the aviation industry department to undertake national defense projects such as equipment pre-research and aerospace pre-research. The research results have been promoted and applied in many units such as the Rocket Force Research Institute, the Fourth Institute of Aerospace Engineering, the Eighth Institute of Aerospace Engineering, Sanjiang Aerospace, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, etc., to achieve solid development Shells, fuel tanks, electromagnetic packaging, high-pressure gas bottles and other products are manufactured with high quality and efficiency.

Biomass low-carbon technology and equipment

The team is committed to the clean use of biomass technology, carried out basic theory, key technologies and engineering applications, undertook the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Programme, the National Key Research and Development Programmes, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Affairs of the professional and technical personnel knowledge updating project, the Anhui Province, the major special scientific and technological research and transformation of achievements, the Anhui Province, the list of commanders, Hefei City, major special projects, enterprises entrusted more than 20 million yuan in funding for the project. The team has developed key technologies and equipment for biomass fuel forming, efficient and clean gasification combustion of biomass, preparation of biomass-based carbon materials and their applications; published more than 100 high-level papers, formulated 6 local standards, authorised more than 60 invention patents, and transformed and applied the results, achieving good social and economic benefits, and was awarded the 23rd China Invention Patent Award of Excellence, the 2021 Provincial Technology Invention First Prize, 2018 Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Second Prize, etc. The research team currently consists of 2 full senior, 4 associate senior, 2 lecturers, and 6 peer collaborators from outside the institute. There are more than 40 doctoral and master's degree students; it has been approved as the Innovation Team of 115 Biomass Efficient and Clean Utilisation Technology of Anhui Province, and the Research and Development (Experimental) Centre of Advanced Biomass Energy Technology of Anhui Province. With more than 10 million yuan of experimental equipment and instruments, it can carry out a number of scientific experiments including biomass moulding and thermal conversion.
