Recently, the CIMS Institute of the School, as the leading unit, participated in the application for the national key R&D plan project "Mathematical Methods and Applications of Integrated Freeform Surface Design, Analysis and Manufacturing (Project Number: 2022YFA1005200)" in the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Plan, with a project funding of 12.13 million yuan. The institute is responsible for the project "Processing Path, Speed Planning and Optimal Control (Project Number: 2022YFA1005204)", with a project funding of 2.606 million yuan, and the person in charge is Associate Professor Xiaoqing Tian. This is another important breakthrough in the college's CIMS Research Institute's long-term commitment to the research and development of intelligent CNC technology, industrial software and CNC equipment.
The National Key R&D Plan Project "Mathematical Methods and Applications Project for Integrating Free Form Surface Design, Analysis and Manufacturing" is led by the University of Science and Technology of China, Suzhou Institute for Advanced Study of the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei University of Technology, and Anhui Jiushao Information Technology Co., Ltd. The company and Shenji (Shanghai) R&D Design System Co., Ltd. jointly applied and implemented it, facing the country's major needs and the main economic battlefield, with the goal of building a domestically produced and controllable industrial software ecosystem, and focusing on cracking the CAX card of my country's R&D and design industrial software Neck problem, carry out research on mathematical theory and efficient algorithms integrating free-form surface design, analysis and manufacturing. The project is divided into four topics. CIMS Research Institute takes the lead in the research and implementation of topic four. The implementation of this topic is expected to achieve new breakthroughs in the field of CAM software core technology and intelligent CNC machining.
