From September 25th to October 3rd, the 2023 National Finals of the China University Aircraft Design Competition opened grandly in Dingzhou, Hebei. 1,800 contestants from 83 universities across the country, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, advanced to the finals. Our school team participated in 4 competitions including fixed-wing UAV reconnaissance and strike, limited-time cargo flight, solar load flight, space rocket launch and return, and achieved good results in the finals, winning 2 second prizes. There were 2 third prizes, among which the fixed-wing UAV reconnaissance and strike project ranked 4th in the group. This competition is co-sponsored by the Chinese Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Hebei provincial and municipal departments, and a number of aerospace colleges and universities such as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and is co-organized by the Youth Science and Technology Center of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and other units. The purpose of the China University Aircraft Design Competition is to implement the national innovation-driven development strategy, promote our country's aviation science and technology innovation, popularize aviation science and technology knowledge, build a platform for college students and scientific research institute researchers across the country to discover innovative talents, test innovative works, and strengthen new construction of an aviation power in the era. More than 50 students from our school (from the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Computer and Information, etc.) have participated in the sub-station competitions and advanced to the national finals. Through competition and study, they have implemented our school's strategy of cultivating talents through innovation and entrepreneurship education!
